Discussion:
Code Lyoko, Aelita, and Odd's smelly feet

You know...

Between the episode where Odd was having a really, really off day, the
episode where everyone was snubbing Odd for thinking of blackmailing Jim,
and now the entire school ragging on Odd for his stinky feet...

Is it me, or does this entire season so far seem to be "Let's All Dump On
Odd"?

...and what's up with Aelita and Odd ending up alone together so often?

I'd like to call it "The Season of the Squeaky-Voiced Government
Agent," but that's probably not as descriptive.

The writers have realized they're falling into formulaic patterns
again, and so decided to shake things up with a love triangle. :)
First, they needed to establish that the Ladies Man of Kadic Academy,
Odd Della Robbia, had started to strike out. (As seen in the Season 2
finale, when he's unable to find a date for the end-of-year dance.)
Then they needed to drive a wedge between Aelita and Jérémie --
provided partially by her discovery that she's human, i.e., her
prospects aren't limited to the boy who "rescued" her.

(A second love triangle, that is: there's Ulrich-Yumi-William, but
that one hasn't budged.)

(Any others? If not, we need some! So, a challenge for fanfic
writers: create an AU ("alternate universe") in which Jim has somehow
acquired a harem consisting of all the female staff of Kadic.)

Well, the DVD Set is Season 1, and CN is currently airing Season 3.
So yep, you missed Season 2 it seems.

It seems that way to you because you're seriously out of the loop.

...yyyyyyyyeah, you could say you've missed "a few episodes".

You might also say you've missed "all of the second season", and from the
sound of it, the two-part season one finale.

Aelita was materialised in the real world in episodes 25-26 at the end of
season one, and since has been attending Kadic with the others, and going
back and forth to and from Lyoko with them.

The episodes currently airing are season *THREE*.

Oh, okay. That's a different matter then. As the single-disc Volumes
have about half of the First Season (14 episodes altogether). There is
also a 3-disc Set having all of Season 1 out now as well. Then, as
said there is another Season already, with CN now showing Season 3.
Season 2 is going to be coming to DVD, though (with a Volume 1
scheduled for the end of November).
